Assessio and TT38

Where Assessio measures abilities, TT38 looks for energy.

Assessio looks at natural traits and how quickly one learns and solves problems. Together, what one can do. However, being able to do something is not the same as doing it. Everyone can have both the aptitude and the brains for a task, but still lose momentum because it never touches what drives us.

Assessio

MAP is based on the five-factor model and captures how people naturally lean. MAP-X shows where it tips into the extremes. Matrigma adds a measure of pure problem-solving ability on top. Two angles, one foundation for a sober, fair recruitment.

TT38

A strong profile and a high Matrigma score say that someone has it in them. They do not say whether it will be used, or if it will just sit and gather dust. TT38 sees which tasks actually ignite a person – and when even a bright employee withers away because their daily life never hits that mark.

MAP and Matrigma share some fields with TT38 and differ from it in others. The chart lays it out openly: green where the answer lies, yellow where the other must step in.

TT38

Natural behaviour – how do they typically act?

MAP measures natural behavioural traits across the Big Five’s five factors and 25 subscales. TT38 builds on that track: which talent patterns activate the person and provide energy in specific tasks.

Cognitive capacity – can they solve problems and learn?

Matrigma measures general cognitive capacity in a culture-independent way – a strong predictor of job performance. TT38 does not measure capacity, but which tasks are energising for the individual.

Objective decisions – are they free from bias?

Assessio has an explicit focus on bias reduction and structured recruitment. TT38 does not measure behaviour or capacity, but the recurring talent patterns behind them.

Risk behaviour – what happens at the extremes?

MAP-X uncovers risk behaviour at both extremes of the factors without extra testing. TT38 does not capture general risk behaviour, but the stress that specifically arises from a talent mismatch.

Talent as a source of energy – what ignites them?

MAP maps out traits and natural behavioural tendencies. It does not show which tasks activate and energise the individual. That is exactly what TT38 maps out.

Match over time – do they flourish in the job?

A great MAP profile and high cognitive capacity do not mean the person will flourish in the long run. Trait stability is not talent activation – and engagement depends on the latter.

Leadership potential – do they carry it in the long term?

MAP shows traits, Matrigma shows capacity. Neither shows who has the natural talent landscape that a leadership role rests upon over time.

Development – what should they unleash?

MAP can point to behaviour that fits the role. TT38 answers the question that feedback often leaves behind: what should I do more of, and which talents should I unleash to reach my potential?

If you need to know more, let's dive deeper

Breadth is Assessio's strength. Personality and problem-solving in the same breath, measured without looking at who the candidate is or where they come from.

It results in a recruitment that can be defended. Nevertheless, many find that candidates who hit everything right on paper lose steam six months in. Without anyone seeing it coming.

The reason rarely lies in whether she can do it. It lies in whether the work ever touches what is her driving force.

Therefore, place the chart alongside your needs. It shows where Assessio and TT38 agree on the answer, and where only one touches upon what the matter is really about for you.

The short answer: both, if you can.

These two do not get in each other's way. Assessio determines who comes through the door; TT38 determines if they are still happy to be there in a year's time.

If you already have Assessio, there is nothing to tear down; TT38 sits on top and answers what the screening was not built for.

And if you have neither yet, you could start with TT38.

Our talent test does not require a personality test alongside it to make sense. But together, they cover more than either does alone.

So what should you choose?

Do you have a talent for what drives you?

Being able to do something and gaining energy from it are two different things. Get your free TT38 reviewed with a talent advisor, so you can see what charges you up and what drains you.

At the same time, you will become sharper at delegating tasks, so your people work with what makes them happier.
